Hi, I’m Joe. I’m currently between jobs — but never between friends.

I’ve been job hunting since December 2023. Had a good two-month stretch of work back in March, thought I’d cracked it, and then — back on the market. Digital marketing’s my world, and here’s the fun bit: it’s changing so fast that even when you’re good at it, you can’t be confident where you’ll be in six months.

The idea for The Job Comeback came from a genuinely rubbish day. A couple of rejections landed within hours of each other. I was at home, doing the usual — sending emails into the void, refreshing LinkedIn, staring at the ceiling — and it hit me: there’s no way I’m the only one doing this exact thing, alone, in their kitchen, right now. Somewhere across London, someone else was having the same day.

So I started The Job Comeback. It’s not networking. It’s not a workshop. It’s a bubble — a couple of hours on a Sunday (sometimes midweek too) where you don’t have to explain your five-year plan or justify the gap on your CV. You just show up, get a coffee, and be normal with people who get it. No LinkedIn voice required.

I’m based near Finsbury Park, North London, and I built this because I needed it to exist. Not as someone “helping the unemployed” — as someone who is unemployed, figuring it out one Sunday at a time, same as you.

See you at the next one. Bring your CV gap, leave the small talk about “what’s next” at the door.
