People turn up at a café, we all get a coffee or a juice or a tap water, and sit with other people who are job hunting or an underemployed and hate their manager or are simply trying to build something and get inspired.
That’s basically it.
There’s no programme or agenda. Nobody stands at the front and . Nobody makes you introduce yourself, explain your career history or tell the room what your five-year plan is.
In the first 15 minutes there is a bit of get to know you of course. People want to find out a bit more about each other. At our last meetup someone came in talking about this car crash interview she had just had. I had just made a Tiktok video about recieving a job rejection email on a Saturday and someone had seen that video and got a similar rejection email that saturday. So we all had a good laugh about that, Applications, recruiters and CVs everything gets put on blast because there is a hell of a lot to be anrgy about with this 2026 job market.
Other people talk about football, hobbies thier terrible bosses or what they watched last night. Lots of links and ideas are exchanged because when you get 10 job hunters in a room someone is going to know something or a job programme that you don't. That is the power of us all being in the same room togeher.

Nobody’s going to ask for one. If you want someone to look at it, ask.
Introduce yourself to the room
You can sit down and say nothing for twenty minutes. People do.
Explain the gap
Everyone here has one or has had one. It stops being a conversation topic quickly.
Be unemployed
Underemployed, on a bad contract, trying to get out of something. All fine.
There isn't really one type of person that comes to a Job comeback event.
Some people have recently been made redundant and when i got made redundant it really knocked my confidence.
Some have been looking for work for months. Some are employed but know they need to leave. Some are freelancing while trying to find something permanent.

You don't need to call yourself a “job seeker”.
And you definitely don't need to have everything figured out before you come.
Practical A friendly job hunting community not a networking event
It’s free. You pay for your own coffee. Meetups are listed on Eventbrite so there’s a rough headcount, but nobody checks a list at the door. Venues are always somewhere you can sit for two hours without being moved on.
A lot of job-search events can feel formal and we try to be the exact opposite.

In some cases you walk into a room, everyone has a name badge, and within thirty seconds someone asks what you do.
The Job Comeback is deliberately different.
We are a welcoming and inclusive job hunting community in London built around normal conversations rather than networking exercises.
You can arrive quietly, order a coffee and settle in. You don’t have to pitch yourself, impress anyone or prove that you’re making progress.
People help each other because they understand what job hunting feels like, not because there’s a structured mentoring programme.
That might mean looking over someone’s CV, sharing a job opening, helping with interview prep or simply talking to someone who gets it.
For a lot of people, that’s the most useful part.
